The media office of the Syrian Negotiation Commission has refuted claims made by media outlets affiliated with the Syrian regime, which reported an alleged meeting between Russia’s special envoy, Alexander Lavrentiev, and a delegation from the Syrian opposition in Turkey to discuss holding Constitutional Committee meetings in Baghdad.
The media office emphasized that the commission’s position on the political process is clear and publicly stated. It remains committed to the strict and full implementation of Resolutions 2254 and 2118, and to achieving a democratic political transition.
