The SNC President, Dr. Bader Jamous, met with the White Helmets team in their office in the Netherlands. He stressed the importance of joining and intertwining political, relief and humanitarian efforts to serve the best interests of all Syrians.

He thanked the White Helmets for their tangible efforts on the ground which have been alleviating people’s suffering and saving lives. He further called for joining efforts in service of Syrians and their best interests and current needs to alleviate the tragedies, disasters and dire conditions they experience.

The organization’s team, on their part, gave an overview of the team’s work and their efforts in documenting and monitoring large scale violations with a view to using these documentations in the transitional justice to bring about accountability and move forward towards transitional justice.

Dr. Jamous and the White Helmets agreed that it was essential to support accountability and transitional justice efforts to ensure compensation, reparation and justice for the Syrian people and holding perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity to account.
