SNC delegation headed by Dr. Bader Jamous held a meeting today with Mr. Nathan Haik, the MENA Advisor to the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs in the ministry’s offices in Paris.

Dr. Jamous stressed the importance of the French role in the Security Council as a permanent member and president of its current round which he was convinced enabled France to keep the Syrian issue on the international radar. He offered an overview of developments in the political process in Syria warning against the risks involved in the Syrian regime’s evasion of the negotiation process and its rejection of the implementation of UNSCR 2254.

He called upon France to play a greater role in mobilizing the Security Council towards the implementation of international resolution which he emphasized was the only path towards peace in Syria.

In his conversation with Mr. Haik, Dr. Jamous highlighted the significance of the peaceful revolutionary movement in As-Suweyda while warning against the deteriorating security and humanitarian conditions in Dara and other Syrian governorates.

On his part, Mr. Haik, asserted the French government’s support of SNC’s efforts to bring the political process to fruit and Frances unwavering position in support of the Syrian people until they build their state of law and justice.

The delegation headed by Dr. Bader Jamous, SNC President, also comprised the following SNC members: Jamal Soleiman from the Cairo Platform, Alise Mofrej from the National Coordination Committee for Democratic Change Forces and Ibrahim Barro from the Kurdish National Council.
